<About the faculty>
Akita Prefectural University has two faculties:
•The Faculty of Systems Science and Technology
•The Faculty of Bioresource Science
All undergraduate courses are conducted in Japanese. Therefore, proficiency in the Japanese language is essential for understanding the lectures. Please note that there are no undergraduate programs where degrees are offered entirely in English.
<About graduate school>
Akita Prefectural University offers two graduate schools:
•The Graduate School of Systems Science and Technology
•The Graduate School of Bioresource Science
Doctoral programs at both graduate schools may accept applicants who do not speak Japanese.
Undergraduate Admissions
Starting with the 2025 entrance examination (scheduled in 2024), a special selection process will be available for privately funded international students.
The graduate schools offer a special admissions process for international applicants and returnees.
Prospective applicants must first obtain informal approval from a faculty member who is willing to supervise their research. Please contact the faculty member directly to discuss your research plan and secure informal consent before applying.
This system allows students to receive academic guidance from a supervisor on a specific research topic. Please note that auditing regular courses is not permitted under this program.
